I'm totally thrilled for her (and gutted to lose her!!!)

So, I'm looking to hire Beth's 'twin' (ha ha)...and soon!! Although we have a laugh in the office, I gotta warn you - the position is waaay more graft than glamour, fashion frills are few and far between. Basically, you'll need to be massively organised, with an insatiable apetite for hardcore admin and number crunching budgets. Here's a rough outline of what Beth does:

Manage cashflow/funding budgets and deadlines for Fashion East/MAN/Menswear Installations.

Liaise with accountant. Write funding reports.

Organise panel meetings to select new designers.

Work with our designers to help them produce their shows / installations.

Keep Fashion East website updated.

Write press releases and liase with key fashion press.

Liase with photography/film crews to document our shows.

Manage design/print/mail out of show invites & oversee seating plan.

Recruit and manage a small team of interns and petty cash.

This was the sight that greeted us when we arrived at Tania Fares Paris home for a private dinner to celebrate Sarah's MBE. Candels were being lit in the dining room of her family home, which has been lovingly restored to its 17th century glory. I felt like I was in a Visconti movie. One of the most enchanting, romantic places I've ever been...

I love Sarah off duty. She was all smiles (even if she probably had about 10 reviews to write later that night) with Ben Kirchhoff, Richard Nicoll, Louise Gray, Michael van der ham, Mary Katranzou, Erdem, and Patrick from E Tautz (who it turned out makes suits for Tania's uncle. Small world)...

Another place I got obsessed with this trip was my local bakery, really cheap and run down..but a million miles from Greggs Bethnal Green Road...

It wasnt all fancy though, I also loved hanging out at the Irish Bar, watching the French noisily lose football matches on the big screen, having beer n chips for dinner with Maarten van der Horst. Nous sommes doomed. Mais oui.

Really great to hang out in the showrooms with the designers and the buying teams who actually buy into our British designers, such as the ever gorgeous Rachel Morgans from Asos...looking supercute in House of Jazz for Lulu & Co...

And in between buyers appointments, having time to catch up properly with friends. Here's Roks, Rich and Baby Mia in our local bistro...

SUNDAY GIRL..

After the craziness of LFW it's heavenly having time to do normal stuff again. I spent a lazy Sunday with Roksanda and her gorgeous little daughter Mia; a stroll in the autumn sunshine along New River Walk (a secluded sixteenth century aqueduct in Islington) then a proper pub roast. Mia is already happily at home in her local I am pleased to say.

Lets just say I had SO MUCH FUN playing at shops I ended up buying half of my own edit, and I now want a permanent shop to play in please...

Mens Days at LFW was possibly our best yet. As usual I was too knackered and busy to properly enjoy it; if only I could only turn back time. Luckily Horace Andy was the soundtrack to my week - good for frazzeled nerves...

The MAN show was killer...exceptional designers and awesome casting, especially Boyo Studio's Joel's selection for Martine Rose; I love that she sent out actual girls. Ok, so will someone please explain to me why girls walking in a menswear show gets frowned on? What's all that about? Feels a bit backwards. I love a beautiful in-betweenie...

One of my favorite pre-LFW times was spent round at Hidden Agency's edit suite in the dead of night as Liam put finishing touches to films he'd made for our 3 MAN designers...

..and James Long. These 2 are at the top of their game and I'm so proud of them and excited to see what they do next!!

Our Fashion East menswear installation event was fun...it's always interesting to see the clothes up close and hang out with the designers..

DIAL 999...LONDON'S ON FIRE!

(Ok, I know over a month's gone by since I last blogged but I've been literally flat out. Sorry!)

Anyway, London Fashion Week was seriously mega good, with outta control collections. We've all seen the runway pics, so here instead are my blurry blackberry ones and a snippet of what I got up to...

Jonathan Saunders smashed it this season with a parade of pastel beauties. You just cant argue with that level of accomplishment. Woohoo go Jonny!

Olivia Palermo was wearing JS AW'11 interviewing him backstage...the look of love on her face says it all...

Nasir's presented his world in the most direct brilliant way...hot hats, hot kids, and a live sound system. I LOVE..

Nice to see Wolfgang Tillmans front row at Louise Gray...

I fell for Lou's collection so hard I dont know where to start...but maybe this knitwear look was among my very favs...

..along with the beautiful pale pink sequined dress worn by Charlotte Free. Lou kills me, always has, and I love her. End of.

Gutted I had to miss Richard Nicoll's show cos it was right before mine, but I did sneak backstage to wish him luck before it started. He was a vision in blue, what I saw of the clothes was DREAMY plus I knew he was playing my favourite Mamas & Papas tune for finale that we'd been singing along to all week. What a sweetheart...

Gorgeous soft muted pastels, delicate fabrics, uber girlie frills together with kinky plastics and neoprene...deeelish!

He'd made his team of interns pretty pink uniforms...lucky girls..

His business partner Jo's adorable girls: Missy, (wearing his SS'08) and baby Lulu. I hope they had front row.

Hard to choose, but here are my top 3 looks...

Afterwards we went back to Rich's studio to party. Andreas Larsson wore some leftover frills he found. Gorge.

Fashion East...its a family affair. Here's Elliot Atkinson, with Sloanie who styled his presentation, and Lyndell on hair. LOVE.

The Haunch of Venison gallery hosted our show this season, the incredible abstract art on the walls from American legend Frank Stella gave me tingles.

Here's Marques Almeida opening the show with a bang. LOVE them. I will so be wearing their ripped denim next summer..

James Long delivered a super slick fierce collection. Go Longo!

I'm mightily into Maarten van der Horst. Especially the monchrome tropical section, with DOOM and KAOS printed on it and pink frills..I'd feel right at home in it...

...and the mint green frilled tux plus skirt look, which Lady Gaga has already snaffled...

Simone Rocha's show was unmissable. Lace encased in clear plastic, neon tulle, precision cuts, girlie silhouettes, masculine references...it was All Good...

Anna dello Russo in Prada popped up at Michael van der Ham's show...

I had the pleasure of sitting next to the lovely Julie Verhoeven. Opposite, Susie and Alex were hard at work...

Poor Julie had to put up with my running commentary of 'ooohs/ahhhs/OMG I neeeeed it!' as we watched Michael's dream of a collection, styled by Christopher Shannon, unfold. So many pretty prints, dresses, seperates, shoes, handbags...the works!

..particularly wild about the drop shoulder coral brocade dress..mmm..

Giles was strictly FANTASTIC. Yes, that is a model with a swan on her head..

So much drama...swoooon..

Giles afterparty was a right giggle...

Gwendoline..I love...

(yes, he did make himself into a drinks table in the middle of the dancefloor)

..and yes, Annie from Premier did try and do what it said on the sign. I took myself off home soon after this...

..even so, my next day was ruined with a thunderous hangover, especially at Roksanda's (BEAUTIFUL) show, where my camera broke on look one..doh!

A few days after the show a pair of her exquisite shoes arrived at my office. SCREAM!

..and a matching beenie!! I am so lucky xx

That evening there was a shazzy drinks reception at 10 Downing Street. Hmmm..what to wear? I know - silk pjs by Maarten van der Horst for Lulu & Co SS12!!

Its funny how what started out as a solo pic of Vic Young infront of the iconic door...

..turned into a duo (Marios Schwab and Hilary Alexander having a ciggie)

..turned into Jonathan Saunders and Vic jumping in...plus policeman roped in..

..escalated into full on school photo (Louise Wilson, Tammy Kane, Yvie, Charlie Harrington, Tim Blanks)!

We then decamped to the newly refurbished Dover Street Arts Club (its brilliant BTW) for a lovely relaxed dinner hosted by Victorinox and me, for a fun crowd of menswear editors and friends. Here's Fantastic Man's Charlie Porter and Net-a-Porter's Ben Matthews having a gossip with Roksanda..

I spent all of today being 'guest editor' in Topshop (fanks for having me Sir Philip!) Had SUPER fun with the lovely Topshop team...trolley dashing round grabbing whatever I fancied then putting it all into looks for mannequins and the window. There's so much hot gear in store right now it was hard to edit down to my favourites. I could have carried on and on...

I can't reveal what I chose yet, but here's a taste of my styling skills. Me and my little bro camping it up in some kind of 'stuffed/anti-skinny' looks I created. (Why??!!)

My curated selection of garms, tunes, books and mags launches in Topshop Oxford Circus this Thursday 15th September. A word of advice - the pieces from Simone Rocha and Michael van der Ham's capsules I included are limited edition and seriously GORGEOUS...so get down early!! xx

MOTEL HONOLULU AT LIBERTY...

For Vogue's Fashion Night Out, Liberty invited me to do something in store. We had a chat a while back...

Liberty: "So Lulu got any ideas you fancy doing in-store?"

Me: "Oh, I dunno...how about a Motel Honolulu with grass skirts and rum cocktails or something fun like that?"

And amazingly, that's exactly what Liberty created. Dream come true!

It's the day of the party. Got my nails specially did at Wah. Love them!

...and tried on a few beautiful Maarten van der Horst Hawaiian print shirts to wear. Popped on some Roksanda heels, grabbed my Simone Rocha perspex clutch, and headed out the door...

Arrived at Liberty and had the most brilliant pit-stop pedi at their Margaret Dabbs Sole Spa (ask for Ellie - she's the fastest and friendliest in town!) then legged it upstairs to the 2nd floor where the party was in full swing with Dj Sloanie cranking out the tunes from his bamboo beach hut. God help us all!

Loving the grass skirts displays and rum cocktails served in coconuts..

Our Lulu & Co collection was so beautifully displayed, I got kind of overwhelmed. I loved meeting shoppers and getting their reaction to the collection and introudcing them to the designers in person. It was crazy mobbed all night!

Beyond excited that Fashion East will be showing in Haunch's Burlington Gardens gallery, amid a show by the legendary American abstract painter Frank Stella next week. So excited I actually feel....A BIT SICK.

The wedding of our darling friend Yvie and her lovely fella John was the happiest and best wedding EVER!

It was then Jonny's turn, inside the beautiful Art Deco walnut pannelled Council Chamber, to walk his best friend Yvie down the aisle. A beautiful moment which made him cry...and made us cry!

The ceremony was perfect, full of character and love, and the whole neighbourhood must have heard the deafening cheer when they kissed.

After a delicious lunch by Ottolenghi, and hysterically entertaining speeches, Yvie threw her bouquet. I sensibly ducked for cover.

Then it was party time. Dancefloor was crazy within seconds and stayed that way till the very last record. I remember starting off the congo at one point with Anthony and Polly. Jeez!!

Mexico's first female photographer and close friend of Frida Khalo - who was often the subject of her work - Lola hosted Frida's first solo show. Powerful women in an interesting circle of revolutionary friends...

This picture and its title 'Dream of the poor' really gets to me. This kid is born to a lifetime's work of making shoes.That's all.

Last week the riots cast a pitch black shadow over everyone's spirit. There is undoubtedly a WHOLE LOT OF SHIT to sort out in this country.

That said, Monday's a new start and to counterbalance the darkness here's a light hearted reminder of why I'm lucky, and grateful life is such FUN...

Top of the list of things that make me happy is my dear friend Roksanda Ilincic asking me to be godmother to her daughter Mia. She's a little angel and smiles non stop..

I brought her this back from Mexico - a slightly inappropriately flirty off the shoulder ruffle dress for my favourite little chiquita...

Lulu & Co's production manager Emily from NYC. Don't know what I'd do without her - she powers through the work; the bigger the production problem to solve the more she gets on finding a solution. Oh, and she rocks a look of sequins and sheer for day. Genius.

Ma homegirl JJ, aka fashion designer recycler extraordinaire Dr Noki. Criminally handsome at 40. Fun birthday times at Bistrotheque!

Wowzers, a bleached denim appliqued rug; a present from darling James Long to celebrate Fashion East's 10th birthday. I love that it's a year late..I can sooo relate to that sort of timekeeping!

It came in handy when Sharmadean brought Baby Roman round to play. He's the happiest kid ever - he literally 'ooohed' at the smiley face sticker on my wall for two hours...bless!

Its the simple things like climbing up my mum's mulberry tree and eating all the berries off it on a summer day...

..and the random disco ball in her greenhouse that make me happy..

Sloanie popping by for a pina colada and brightening up my day when Im at stuck at work on a Sunday is always incredible!

More delicious cocktails and fun times involving Sloanie, and Henry at the Asos catwalk show ...

While we're on the subject of cocktails, what could be more fun than an innocent mid-week pint turning into a mega party (in this case for Paul Flynn's 40th at the Nelsons) with everyone ending up back at mine for a nightcap of vodka berroca (gross, I know...but it was the only mixer I had in the house!)

A RIDIC surprise pressie arriving in the post from Japan. Thanks Kim Jones! :)

Big shiny truck wheels make me buzz. Don't ask me why...I have no idea.

Patrick Waugh designing Boyo t shirts on my office floor makes me super happy...

..he hand collaged original prints by Jamie Morgan. Gorgeous...

The collages went onto tees which we shot on Georgia Salamat for our lookbook. Check her out here in Nasir's leopard hat. Love this girl, she has the best positive attitude as well as being a right little stunner.

Even when me and Jez Tozer were delirious with tiredness editing his shots for layout at 2am, we loved it...as you do..

Watching Ananda shoot basketball in Mexico late at night..just me, her and the mosquitos. The kid's gonna be a world champion one day I swear..

That sigh of relief when a sample comes back perfect and looks great on Rei, our fittings model...

And how about frittering time (when you should be working) listening to your worst favourite old tunes really REALLY loud and remembering when you used to dress and dance like this - to put a stupid grin to your face?

I say....JUST DO IT!

Nonstop comedy provided by Trolly Polly and Nicole, I havent laughed this much in years!

Danced down the front till the end of the night with Tim Blanks...needed a good shakedown..

Got up the next morning and took a train to Luscombe Farm...

..every inch of the place has happy childhood memories...

and Susie cooked a spectacular lunch like she always does..

..the train journey home to London went slow..time to reflect on the events of the last few days..

..my happy bubble of a weekend contrasted with the sad news from the real world...and how lucky I am...

My new intern (and studio fit model since we sussed she's a perfect size 8)...it's the lovely Laura!

Not only does Laura make the perfect cuppa (very important), but she assisted me fantastically on our lookbook shoot last week. The highlight was when she brought two left shoe samples, and went the whole day without realising she'd put two contact lenses in her own left eye. Now that's my kind of girl.

Knew right away we had to cast Harriet from IMG...such a dream...

..and little Georgia from Storm....insanely hot...and fun!

Anyway, more on our MAD LOVE for the girls later, back to Laura's latest triumphs: apparently she's gone and set me up a Twitter account without even telling me. Amazing! I'd resisted fiercely up till now. You can see our first few wobbly steps into the abyss here...oh God. It begins...

After a nail-biting Wimbledon final witnessing hottie Nadal graciously lose to Djokovic, me and Harriet jumped on a train to catch Prince play Hop Farm festival on a perfect summer's evening...

Michael blew my mind Saturday night. Check him out sauntering around in his jogging bottoms and socks, owning the place. So much love for him in that room it was palpable..

His new show's choreography was amplified by an army of volunteer dancers of different ages, sizes, colours..I loved their imperfect moves and excited expressions. The colossal scale of the setting - Tate Modern's turbine hall, dramatic lighting, costumes by Bodymap's Stevie Stewart and booming soundtrack by Pulp, Kraftwerk, and David Bowie had the hairs on the back of my neck standing up start to finish...

There's a power..vulnerability and a delicious naughtiness to Michael that takes your breath away...watching him dance you forget about reality...he hold's you in the epicentre of a euphoric universe just for that moment..

Now, we all know Nicholas Kirkwood is a sweetheart, awesome shoe designer and savvy businessman. BUT...it still struck me as pretty bloody amazing that at the age of 30, there he was, casually opening his flagship store on Mount Street last Thursday!!!

There was a heavy industry turn out and a buzz of genuine happiness for him in that room; it's brilliant when nice things happen to nice people isn't it?

His collaboration with the Keith Haring Foundation sent me silly. These shoes are beyond anything I've seen and wanted in years...

Week 2 of the Mexican jaunt was strictly dedicated to the 40th birthday celebrations of our gorgeous friend David Waddington (of Bistrotheque fame and glory). Yaaay!

The warm-up day to David's actual birthday was my favourite - a classic case of peaking too early, thanks to a messy 'lunch'..

Hazel busting some yoga moves..really don't know how she kept her balance...

Some ridiculous Benny Hill style romping and skinny dipping, then went out for dinner which none of us remember and I lost my wallet. Oh well...at least I saw sunrise before the cycle ride of shame home the next morning...

..caughted red handed by Daniel...he was up being all healthy having a dawn power cycle..."where the hell have you been Lulu?"

David had hired the most amazing villa in all of Tulum, the villa's chef made sure we were fed and watered at all times...

The market stall woman selling live iguanas was photographed in the fiercely Matriarchal town of Juchitán in Oaxaca state where men are kept firmly under manners, women control the economy, and gays/transvestites are accepted and encouraged. Wim Wender's photographic show opened at Haunch of Venison last night. There's a contemplative stillness and assurance to his work I'm really drawn to..as well as the subject matter: places rather than faces. I think he shows how places can have a soul...

At the afterparty at Nobu, I actually met him. In 3D!! We remarked on his beautiful wife Donata's vintage 70s outfit being the exact same scarlet as his photo of the empty outdoor cinema in Palermo. Wim and Donata are so obviously in love it's adorable...a golden couple..and great hosts..

Had the most fun last night...our office was heaving with Red Stripe and friends ordering from AW11 menswear collections. So nice having everyone under one roof..

Best of all, Karen Binns came to hang out. I worship this woman.

Afterwards we dropped by Jefferson's party in the De Montfort Suite at Town Hall Hotel, where we sat and rapped industry stuff, life and men till the early hours. She is wise and real, in charge, wild...oh, and freakin HILARIOUS...

Today I went to see the lovely people at TIGI. While we chatted, the legendary Anthony Mascolo cut Andrei's hair, and then had his own cut.

Fashion East goes on tour! Marios Schwab, Louise Gray, and James Long and their teams plus me landed in snowy Russia...

After 4 hours in Customs (total punish), we finally made our way into Moscow to prep for our show at the World Trade Centre...

We were given an hour to select models in an open casting: the girls lined up and we had to either hire or fire on the spot. Harsh! It took some getting used to...

Straight after casting we had to fit, decide running order and figure out changes..amazing what you can bang out when you only have a couple of hours (even when none of the shoes fit the girls. Love a shoe drama!)

We headed to supercool new store Tsvetnoy who were hosting a trunk show for Marios...

Great to meet the buyers (here's the lovely Yulia) and exciting seeing our Lulu & Co collection on the shop floor...

Ok, job done...now it's time to PARTY. Here's the quiet before the storm. Look at our innocent faces...butter wouldnt melt, right?

Wrong! Fast forward a few hours, and Ashley Fletcher has brought the place to a standstill and made the crowd scream in delight at his solo performance to Single Ladies, and made himself an earing out of the chandelier crystals. Oh Ashley...

Next morning we're really not feeling too clever but it's sunny so we drag ourselves along to see Red Square..which is incredible...

..then some souvenir shopping. Russian dolls and hats. We love being tourists!

Quick dash to the airport, then a hysterical flight home - entertainment courtesy of Ashley, Louise and BA's free drinks. Love Lou's Hole t shirt...

Russia. Land of Anna Karenina, Communism, Tchaikovsky, Olga Korbut (who I wanted to be as a kid), Dostoevsky and vodka...just the thought of this mighty nation makes my heart beat faster...not to mention the nostalgic connection to it from my Grandpa.....

On Sunday April 3rd, me and Fashion East alumni Marios Schwab, Louise Gray and James Long will be special guests of Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week Russia and show our AW11 collections on the catwalk again.

The best Sunday ever...lazy breakfast at Campania Gastronomia, flower shopping on Columbia Road, lunch at Bistrotheque, beer in London Fields, then the cherry on the cake - meeting Sharmadean and her gorgeous little boy Roman at Wah Nails. He is A-M-A-Z-I-N-G!!

Really alert, chilled, a superhappy kid...(well wouldn't you be if Sharmadean Reid was YOUR mum??). It was packed in the salon, they'd organised a yard sale with 100% of proceeds going to the Japan relief effort...check it out here...

Ok so I may be missing Tulum, but there are still plenty of reasons to love London right now...

1. The blossom's out..

2. It's a beautiful city especially on a sunny day. Here's brilliant blogger Sasha Wilkins aka Liberty London Girl enjoying the view of St Pauls - we were on a rooftop shoot together. Sasha wore an Erdem frock and Lara Bohinc heels...hot!

3. This stunning new ring by Jordan Askill was waiting for me on my desk. How's THAT for a welcome home??!! xx

4. And most of all my incredible team at work and circle of friends..doh obviously!! Without them I wouldn't bother being here. The other night Henry Holland organised and hosted 'Debut' a charity event for Cancer Research...what a special person..

Here's Pixie in House of Holland AW11. She told me she decided to wear both dresses Henry sent her, one ontop of the other...how gorgeous does she look?
